In the J.D. Power 2023 Initial Quality Study, Stellantis brands took the top three spots! All the Stellantis brands improved their scores over the last year, surpassing industry expectations. Each brand also finished higher than their previous ranking, especially Jeep and RAM.
Jeep performed well in several ways. The Jeep Gladiator tied for the top midsize pickup, and the Jeep brand climbed four positions in the rankings.
Mark Stewart, the COO for Stellantis in North America, expressed his excitement, saying, “We are clearly finding our rhythm.” He emphasized how this achievement benefits the team and sends a positive signal to their customers. It shows Stellantis is in tune with and actively responds to their concerns.
Stewart also mentioned that the team will focus more on delivering an excellent customer experience. It is not just because it is part of their Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan but because it is the right thing to do. They want to ensure their customers are satisfied and happy with their vehicles.
The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study is based on surveys of new vehicle buyers about their first three months of ownership. They measure the number of problems per 100 vehicles to evaluate brand performance. The success of the Jeep Gladiator played a role in this improvement.
RAM placed second in the industry and was deemed the most-improved mass-market brand. The RAM 1500 was named the top full-size light-duty pickup truck.
